I really liked it
I was prepared to dislike this Dexter reboot because ‘Dexter: New Blood’ was so bad. Passionately! But to my great surprise: I liked it.
The new cast is solid
Patrick Gibson is very convincing as young Dexter, as is Molly Brown as the obnoxious Deb. Alex Shimizu pins Vince Masuka; also a silly laugh. Christian Slater (Harry) lacks James Remar’s charm, but this is only the first episode.
Hall is also back as the narrator, but it doesn’t sound the same
There’s no Tom Matthews, instead we get a new character (Captain Aaron Spencer) played by Patrick Dempsey. Michael C. Contrary to what I thought it would be, I’m looking forward to watching the rest of this latest incarnation of Dexter.
